Review: Tires: Continental GP3000 Clinchers
So, a few years ago, I decided to invest in some high performance bicycle tires. After two years, I had bought about
3 pairs of these tires, Continental GP3000. The first set was extremely durable (6000K). I basically ran them into the ground. I also choose to
use 700x20 instead of 700x23. The treads were extremely quick and light. The color choices were excellent for matching team and bike colors.
However, I must say that cornering with these tires was extremely poor. With a slight tread pattern etched into the side of the tread, I seemed
to never have enough grip when cutting a sharp turn. I have yet to use the GP4000s, but I expect that they would be marginally better. If you
have a lot of money to use on your equipment, I would suggest not using these and buy something different.
