Review: Tires: Continental Gatorskins
If you are looking for a training tire, you should not overlook the Continental Gatorskins. With a durable main tread and high
sidewalls, they keep most of the rocks, sticks, and road trash out of your way so that you can keep on riding without finding yourself changing tube after tube.
If you are a color freak with your bicycle equipment, you will be disappointed. These tires only come in black with the Continental amber/orange sidewalls. Yet,
the tires roll quickly and corner like their more expensive Continental treads. In the weight sector, these treads are not the weight weenies favorite tread of choice. They tip the scales over 300g per tread. However, if you are training, why not have a heavy tire? It might give your legs a little more work during the dull offseason. Overall, the Continental Gatorskins live up to their name by keeping thorns out of your way, are a tad heavy, and have many thousands of kilometers of durability.
