Going Green - Alternative Fuels, Energy, Being Responsible ![]() Does this bring feelings of happiness and a bright vibrant environment? 6 out of 7 days, I ride my road bike around the streets, local highways (not interstates), and rural roads. What is one of the most common sights to been seen? Look no further than your everyday, common as water, plastic grocery bag. With the number of plastic bags that are accidentally allowed to float away, left outside, or intentionally thrown to the side of the road, we could probably make a large number of plastic covered football/soccer fields, build the space elevator that has been floating around in the idea phase, or even erect millennium-proof shelters. Seriously, we can tackle this feature of our current environment. Instead of going to Wal-Mart and using a bunch of plastic bags, why not bring your own canvas bags? They are reusable, last an extremely long time, and do not rip. I have heard
a story told that some canvas bags are able to take loads of bricks without tearing or ripping the seams. If canvas bags can take that amount of punishment, why not transport
the French bread, a gallon of milk, or a couple cans of chicken noodle soup? Approximately for the last year, I have used canvas bags to transport my foodstuffs from the
grocery store to home. This might not seem like a large proposition, but in the long run, you are going the earth a big service. So, are you ready to jump on board? If so, check out some of the links that are found in the google ads to the left or below. They will be able to direct you to sites that sell canvas bags for a relatively small amount of money.
